Our Process

What does the brand strategy process at Kenyan Grafik entail?

Our brand strategy process is integral to everything we do at Kenyan Grafik. It begins with understanding your business, market, and audience, which forms the foundation for creating a meaningful brand. We leverage the 5-P branding framework to get a concrete strategy for your brand.

The 5-P's include:

→ Purpose: The reason your brand exists.
→ Principles: Your brand's moral and philosophical stands on key elements relevant to your audience.
→ Promises: This reflects how your brand solves the problem and ensures a positive brand experience.
→ Personality: The unique way your brand presents itself.
→ Proof: How your brand demonstrates its claims in marketing strategy to earn trust.

This robust process helps us craft a comprehensive and unique brand strategy that guides all further decisions and designs, ensuring a coherent, impactful brand identity that truly resonates with your audience.

How does Kenyan Grafik’s design process work?

Our design process is divided into five stages: Discover, Strategy, Design, Handover, and Evaluate.

→ In the Discover stage, we work closely with our clients to understand their brand, project, needs, and goals.
→ The Strategy phase involves translating these insights into a comprehensive brand strategy. This strategy then guides us in the Design stage, where we create initial concepts.
→ We allow for up to 3 rounds of revisions during the Design stage, refining the concepts based on client feedback.
→ Once we've finalized the design, we move to the Handover stage, providing the client with all the necessary files.
→ In the Evaluate stage, we remain available for two months after the project, for consultations and support related to the delivered strategy and design.

Do you respond to RFPs/RFQs?

We generally don't respond to RFPs, preferring to create proposals for prospective clients who we've had direct discussions with. Otherwise, we might end up being in the proposal-making business - which we are not. This approach helps us maintain high-quality service and customized solutions for all our clients.

What value you get

How many design options are presented to clients?

While we start with several ideas during the early stages of the design process, we narrow our focus to 2 or 3 concepts which we present to the clients. This focused approach allows us to craft designs that align with the client’s goals and strategy.

Do you create logos and do packaging?

Yes, we create logos and do packaging as part of the visual identity and brand implementation respectively.

Do you build websites?

We do, but only under two conditions:
a) we built your visual identity, or
b) you have an existing brand identity that we can comfortably work with.
We believe it’s essential to understand a brand’s strategy before designing its website.

What is your preferred design style?

We don’t stick to a particular style. Each design strategy we employ is informed by our clients’ goals, audience, and competitive landscape. The final style is always one that effectively communicates the client’s brand, fostering growth and recognition.

Who owns the rights to the work after the project is completed?

The client owns the rights to all final designs once the project is completed, unless otherwise specified.

The Money

How do you handle payments and what’s your pricing structure?

We typically require an upfront deposit with the remainder paid in installments, based on the project's scope and size.
While we don't have a fixed pricing structure, we encourage potential clients to reach out to us regardless of budget. We'll see how we can work together to build your brand. However, if cost is the primary concern, we might not be the best fit. We are value-driven, based on your budget.

What is your refund policy at Kenyan Grafik?

At Kenyan Grafik, we strive to provide high-quality and satisfactory services to all our clients. However, due to the bespoke nature of our work, we do not offer refunds once a project has commenced. We encourage open communication throughout the design process to ensure our clients' needs and expectations are met to their satisfaction.

AOB

How do you handle communication during projects?

We usually limit meetings to the discovery and strategy sessions, preferring emails and WhatsApp for other forms of communication. Oh, and don’t be surprised if you see us using emojis and GIFs in our communication. 😁

Can I see examples of your previous work from past clients?

Absolutely, we'd be happy to direct you to our select works where you can see samples of our work.
